Communication difficulties present healthcare professionals with barriers to delivering safe, high-quality care.
Our Bespoke Interpreting, Language and Communication Services (BILCS) team provides interpreting and translation services for a range of NHS organisations and local authorities.
Support offered by BILCS includes an out-of-hours telephone interpreting service, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Our online portal makes it quick and simple for GPs, nurses and consultants to book the assistance they need from a range of expert interpreters and translators.
The team already works extensively across the West Midlands – making a positive difference in patients’ lives – and is capable of extending this support to more health systems further afield.
What we do
The BILCS team helps providers deliver accessible care by overcoming language and communication barriers by delivering a range of interpreting and translation support – improving patient experience and outcomes as a result.
We help primary, community and third sector care organisations arrange appointments, deliver inclusive consultations and treatment, and provide medicines, aftercare and healthy lifestyle advice. The result is better patient outcomes, together with cost savings for the NHS, by reducing the length of hospital stays and the number of needless A&E attendances and hospital admissions.
