HFMA WEST MIDLANDS FINANCE TEAM OF THE YEAR 2021 – WINNER
The Healthcare Financial Management Association recognised the contribution that our Finance Team has made in the last twelve months to promoting and improving teamwork, innovation, collaboration, transformation and governance in the NHS finance community.
MLCSU was short-listed for Nursing Times 2021 Workforce Team of the Year for development of a Bring Back Staff returners programme.
Our Clinical Directorate was short-listed for a Nursing Times Award 2021 (public health category) for work on the Lancashire and South Cumbria mass vaccination programme.
WMAHSN MERIDIAN CELEBRATION OF INNOVATION AWARDS 2020 – WINNER
Our Medicines Management and Optimisation Team won this award with its collaborative stakeholder approach to the development of a streamlined medication ordering process – working in partnership with Walsall Clinical Commissioning Group, Blakenhall Family Practice, Boots Community Pharmacist and Parklands Court Nursing Home.
The work was part of the medicines optimisation in care homes pilot project across the Black Country.
Our Medicines Management and Optimisation Team has been shortlisted for its Birmingham polypharmacy review, which improved patient care and reduced costs.
Our Children’s Continuing Care Team has been shortlisted for its Leicestershire project delivering personal health budgets for children and young people with complex health needs.
Our Procurement Team and West Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group have been highly commended for procurement of the iHELP community pain management service.
Our Procurement Team and West Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group have been shortlisted in the sub £20million category for procurement of the iHELP community pain management service.
Our Procurement Team and West Leicestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Leicester City CCG and East Leicestershire and Rutland CCG, have been shortlisted in the sub £20million category for developing an innovative procurement process to support transformation of a discharge pathway.
Strategy Unit joint submission with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust for the Rapid Assessment Interface and Discharge Plus service (Integrated Mental Health Urgent Care Test Bed), to achieve predictive, preventative, integrated and efficient urgent care services for patients who are most at risk of a mental health crisis, and to support their relatives and carers

Communications and engagement team helped George Eliot Hospital win with its #jointeameliiot nurse recruitment campaign.
Improving the Value of NHS Support Services category for implementing a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS), called Adam, to place Continuing Healthcare (CHC) patients in the best possible care homes.
Communications category – communications and engagement team helped two clients secure shortlisted places. George Eliot Hospital (#jointeameliot nurse recruitment campaign) and Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG (internal communications).
Education Communications Campaign category – communications and engagement team supported NHS Sandwell and West Birmingham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) with GP engagement and their primary care clinical leaders’ programme.
Internal Communications Campaign category – Sandwell and West Birmingham CCG and communications and engagement team for work on ‘creating an approachable and collaborative culture’. In the CCG’s annual staff survey 92% of staff said they felt proud to work for the CCG.
Best Event category – communications and engagement team and Solihull Together for Better Lives (ST4BL) for ST4BL Awards to celebrate the achievements of people and organisations who are working together to improve the quality of life for all Solihull residents.
Best Use of Digital category – communications and engagement team for work in transforming Birmingham Royal Orthopaedic Hospital’s website.
