In an ever more data-driven world, we recognise the importance of being able to hold and retrieve comprehensive, timely and accurate staffing data to support customer decision making and operational efficiency.
We have extensive experience in all aspects of the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) solution and are able to leverage its functionality to derive real customer benefits.
We have a highly-skilled Employment Services team that is fully experienced with NHS pay terms and conditions. We can ensure that your employees’ personal, role and pay details are all recorded and maintained correctly in ESR. The team can receive data from customers in a variety of ways ranging from scanned forms through to the checking and approval of customer-entered data.
Workforce information
Our Workforce Information and Systems (WIS) team has implemented a considerable range of ESR functionality for customers and has a high degree of technical knowledge of the system. This enables us to provide a highly responsive support service with over 95% of queries being resolved the same day, most within two hours.
We also offer ESR help desk support to customers on a short-term basis to add resilience to local teams in case of temporary capacity challenges.
We support customers in their planning and implementation of ESR functionality in areas such as:
- employee and manager self-service
- annual leave booking
- absence recording
- flexible working requests
- recording declarations of conflicts of interest
- exit interviews.
The WIS team also has extensive experience in supporting the provision and compliance monitoring of mandatory and statutory training through ESR. We work closely with customer organisational development and learning leads to facilitate this.
Workforce intelligence and analytics
We harness the full range of data held in ESR to provide customers with:
- regular performance dashboards encompassing a range of key workforce metrics
- deep dives into areas of interest or concern to provide new insights that can inform action plans for future improvement
- scheduled and ad-hoc reports including bespoke, locally-developed reports where the ESR national reporting suite does not provide what is needed in the way that you need it
- delivery of statutory workforce reporting obligations in areas such as Gender Pay Gap (GPG) analysis, Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) and the Workforce Disability Standard (WDES).
Establishment control and vacancy management
Our bespoke digitised establishment control system – ECSys, has been fully developed in-house and offers multi-service working within NHS Midlands and Lancashire.
ECSys enables:
- the timely maintenance of budgeted establishment in ESR
- a robust auditable approval mechanism for the operation of establishment and vacancy control
- full management of the approval process for all manner of establishment-impacting requests including recruiting to vacancies, creating new positions, changing the budgeted FTE against positions, disestablishing positions, changing employee hours, job re-banding, and so on.
