The Gibraltar Health Authority (GHA) partnered with NHS Midlands and Lancashire to develop a bespoke automated system to improve the accuracy and efficiency of processing community pharmacy prescriptions. By replacing manual processes, the new SQL rules-based system corrected 71% of a month’s dataset, reducing drug price reimbursement costs by 7%. This solution enhanced the timeliness and accuracy of payments to pharmacies, significantly improving productivity for the GHA.
