Staff keep operations working smoothly despite flooding closing base

A power cut caused by flooding has meant our Individual Patient Activity and Continuing Healthcare staff in Derbyshire are unable to work from the Cardinal Square building.

The team’s business administration staff have moved to the nearest MLCSU base, Venture House in Leicestershire, and colleagues have found IT equipment for them to use to keep the service operating and ensure core functions are fulfilled. Car-pooling options have been organised to help staff get to Venture House.

They are not expected to be able to return to Cardinal Square until Thursday at the very earliest. In the meantime, the team can be contacted via the Single Point of Access (SPA) number at Venture House: 01246 733360.

Head of Individual Patient Activity/Continuing Healthcare Service, Derby and Derbyshire, Pete Vallelly praised his team for their resilience, thanking them for “adopting such a positive can-do approach to keeping the show on the road.”
