MLCSU honoured for outstanding achievement in procurement
MLCSU has been highly commended in the UK National Government Opportunities (GO) Excellence in Public Procurement Awards 2019/20.
Our support for the West Lancashire iHELP community pain management service was honoured in the Innovation of the Year category and was also shortlisted for Procurement Project of the Year (sub £20m value).
Our work on transformation of a discharge pathway in Leicestershire was also shortlisted for Procurement Project of the Year (sub £20m value).
The GO Awards recognise outstanding achievement in procurement across the public, private and third sectors and are seen as the benchmark by which procurement excellence and progress in public sector commissioning is measured.
The UK National GO Awards bring together the best from the GO Awards Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland with new entries, ensuring that the winners truly represent the highest levels of success in public procurement.
Recognising all winners and highly commended entries, David Smith, Chair of the 11-strong expert judging panel, said: “I believe the standard of the Awards has improved greatly over the years. The winners in the categories this year are as good if not better than any other year.”
MLCSU’s Head of Procurement, Bev Thomas, said: “I’m delighted that the team has received this national recognition. Three shortlistings followed by a ‘highly commended’ is a great result and reflects the hard work and dedication that is shown on all our projects.”
