MLCSU achieves global professional standard for procurement excellence
We are delighted to have achieved The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Procurement Excellence Standard in our purchasing policies, processes and procedures.
We are joining a select group of organisations who have achieved this standard, and are one of only eight NHS organisations to secure it.
CIPS is the world’s largest procurement and supply professional organisation. Its Procurement Excellence Programme assesses an organisation’s procurement and supply operations against internationally respected standards.
Our Head of Procurement, Beverley Thomas said: “I am delighted with this achievement and extremely proud of the team. The CIPS Accreditation process has been a rewarding and reflective process which has made us a better procurement function and provided us with the rigour to explore areas for improvement and innovation.”
Alan Martin, Head of Procurement Excellence at CIPS said: “My congratulations and thanks go to the NHS Midlands and Lancashire CSU team for their hard work, dedication and tenacity to challenge their own systems and meet the challenges of the Procurement Excellence Programme.
“The team have a large remit and responsibility to support procurement across other departments, so we’re glad for their time and energy in making sure their activities are the best they can be.”
